Serum Prolactin before and after Chlorpromazine Injection in Paranoid and Nonparanoid Schizophrenic Disorders

Abstract

|
For comparison of paranoid and nonparanoid types of schizophrenia, the authors measured serum prolactin level in both groups of schizophrenics before and after the intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine (25 ㎎) by radioimmu noassay technique. This study suggests that it would be difficult to distinguish´ paranoid type of schizophrenic disorder from other schizophrenics by measuring serum prolactin level.
